Has anyone ever asked for and received a credit limit increase with Cap One ??

Brutus Buckeye said: "Just wondering. I have 3 Cap One CC's with credit limits of $500.00 I was thinking about asking for an increase to $1000.00 for each. All 3 have near zero balances and I have never been late on any payments. Thoughts ? Thanks in advance."

Perhaps if they could raise them based solely on your track record with their company they will not do an inquiry, I would ask how they will make the decision before letting them check (hold time)."

I would guess your better off with Crap one just letting them raise them at their own snail like pace, probably two years or so after being opened."

Then the autovoice said that Crap one is not accepting request for credit increases, either by operator or automated service. Crap One reviews your account and then decides wether or not you should get a credit increase. IF THEY DON'T ACCEPT AUTOMATED REQUESTS FOR CREDT INCREASES, WHY HAVE THE OPTION. A week or 2 later I got a letter from them stating the same."

I had a payment two days late (cuz I screwed up and misplaced the bill) and the next month their was a note saying that even though the agreement said they could increase the interest rate, they were not going to do so. It's the only CC company I have seen that doesn't go out of their way to screw you coming and going - unlike MBNA who gladly increases your interest rate from 7% (not an intro rate) to 19% at a whim."

Called to ask for increase and was told that they review and increase at their discretion. 2% of those who ask for an increase get one...so I asked, got a hard pull and a decline. Fine, I am paying it off, keeping it open TL and will get another, better card with a higher limit----later. Right now, no more pulls-I want a house. :D"
