A friend of mine recently had an accident that was not her fault. She was hurt (not really bad-thank goodness) and has had to go to numerous doctors, MRI, physical therapy, numerous xrays, pain drugs, etc. Most of this has been out of pocket expense because the faulty party's insurance will not pay until she is "done" with her medical problems! :eek:
I just found out there is coverage that you can get on your own auto insurance policy that will cover you if this should happen to you. It is "medical payments" and is usually optional I guess. I called my company (USAA rocks) and I had this coverage, but I only had $5000. It cost me an extra 12 bucks per 6 months to up this to $25,000 (per passenger). Small price for peace of mind after seeing what my friend is going through."
