SPRINT and CUSTOMER SERVICE - C A R E F U L !

30clocks said: "Hi there! Just wanted to share a very special situation with Sprint PCS. I've been receiving automated calls to my cell phone telling me that my account was reaching its spending limit. The first time, I freaked out because that was the same say they should have debited my monthly charge from my bank account. I was not home and I had to run and call the bank, verify that the ATM card was not stolen, etc. When I found out that SPRINT had debited the account that same morning, and that the call was at 5:30PM, I was furious and called them. The Service Rep was very nice and assured me, I would not get another of these calls... it must have been a "system error" she said. So that was OK with me. The next night, at 9PM, got another of these phone calls. I called again, and of course, I was not in the mood to accept a "system error" excuse again. So this "gentleman" with a Mexican accent (I'm not discriminating, I'm Hispanic and know what Mexican sounds like) said "But Ma'am you sound like you're a very pretty woman, don't be mad, let me help you"; "I know that girls from XX (my country) are very hot and petite"; I was in shock to hear someone talk to me like that! I asked him, just to see if he even knew what he was saying, what "petite" was, and he said "girls that are short, and have really tight and beautiful bodies" I told him that my husband though I was very beautiful too, and he went on to say "Oh, please, don't break my heart"... I asked him in several occassions to go back to the account info, but he'd take every single opportunity to make an inappropriate comment. Of course I reported him bright and early the next day! I even reported him to Sprint's Corporate Security; contacted my lawyer AND asked them to provide me with a full transcript of the phone conversation. To what Sprint replied with "Recordings are property of Sprint"; and "you will not get a written response from Sprint, since all we do now is an Internal investigation". That's their kind of service, AND they have all your personal info! I wonder how much do the Service Reps know about their customers!"

MichaelG said: "So... you have a csr that complimented you, and offered his help. Then for some odd reason you mention his race. What's the problem? I'm sure they'll correct your little "inconveinence". There's bigger fish to fry."

MichaelG said: "
I would be filing complaints wherever I could. That's sexual harrassment.
Please. You're smarter than that."

TScott said: "
Please. You're smarter than that.
All I'm saying is I would not allow anyone to speak to me that way. Not saying I would take it to court........but I would let someone know. That would creep me out if a business call went in that direction. And yes.......I would have gotten the guy's name and made a fuss. That's bad business."

I agree with you in letting someone know about this clown making light of the situation speaking in an aloof manner, and he sounds like an unprofessional bufoon who will probably get reprimanded if they do an internal investigation like they claim. But it is not sexual harrassment."

And I tend to get emotional. :p It just ircks me when people think they can get away with that."

94B10 said: "I am sorry what the heck does what you look like have anything to do with getting people to stop calling you about something that has already been taken care of. I am not trying to be rude MichaelG, but how in the hell is that a compliment? How many times have you been spoken to like that because it so obvious by your comment that you have no understanding when someone crosses the line, did you not hear that he kept making inappropriate comments. What do you mean by there's bigger fish to fry, for women stuff like that is something we always have to fry along with the bigger fish as you say. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying. 30 clocks sorry you had that experience, It's happened to me before and though there isn't much legally you can do about it, I surely did cuss his A$$ out though."

MichaelG said: "
Alright......lol.......touché........your just too damn logical....haha. You sound just like my ex wife :D And it's probably why I'm single again ;)"

TScott said: "
Ha!... too logical. You sound just like my ex wife :D And it's probably why I'm single again ;)
Yeah......what are you a scorpio? And 94B10, You are reacting just like I did.......that would piss me off to no end......and yeah he crossed the line.......I don't see that as a compliment. But really.....unless you were seriously violated.........there's probably not much you can do about it. His karma will come back around on him."

30clocks said: "Come on Michael... It is disrespectful to compliment anyone who did not ask or was in the position to accept a compliment. If you say something like this to a girl at work, I'm sure they'd fire you without a second chance. Internal investigations take approx 30 days and probably include getting info from co-workers and listening to previous employee recordings. While they do all this, it's up to them to have the employee suspended without pay for some time, or if he is a Part-Time, on Probation, or new employee, he "possibly" wouldn't get a chance. Others would just investigate without letting the employee know and then tell him after he's been caught. ------------------------------ He did not "offer" his help; he's EXPECTED to help bc that's his job, not to pay compliments to anyone. And please, don't take words out of context. Just like Americans can tell if someone's from North, South, East or West due to his/her accent, Latins can tell about the Country of origin because of the same thing. ------------------------------ And I wasn't finished with my previous post. It doesn't qualify for suit as harrassment, because there should be more evidence, but it IS harrassment. I checked the law and the lawyer confirmed this. Now, if this employee calls, or something happens to my phone service after this incident, it could all be related to that main "inconvenient" and I could definitely take legal action against them. ------------------------------ I also complained to the FCC because it deals with telecommunication services, including quality customer service and representation for a telecommunications provider. ********************************** Anyway, I posted this just to let people know that there are some who will show no respect for others. And some of us who will not tolerate it one bit. Your work is no place to be hitting on anyone!"

30clocks said: "I'm pretty sure his "HOT kharma" hit him pretty hard. Not that I'm happy if he lost his job or got suspended, but girls don't have to put up with this crap anymore!"

94B10 said: "I am not trying to make a big deal out of this, but darn it some of us have to deal with this kind of BS all the time. I would feel the same way if it were the other way around and a girl did that to a guy. Its just plain stupid and ignorant to conduct of yourself in that manner.Yes WE don't have to put up with crap like that anymore but it doesn't mean that it's going to stop. I mean Michael G thought that was compliment, I wish you tell me which part was a compliment "

David said: "You guys should try working for AT&T. People make sexual harrasment charges against everyone all the time. It got so bad that AT&T dumped that business unit. It was like working in a mine field."

I'm still trying to get it resolved because at the time the phone was missing I contacted them right away and the woman assured me everything was going to be ok. Now they are on EX showing a collection.. They won't even talk to me about it they continue to give me the number to their collection agency (which never answers the phone).......HATE EM'"

I had this problem... go to www.bbb.com I am telling you that fight with SPRINT is not worthy.. you wont prove anything.. because you are 1 of billion consumers and unfortunately they don’t care about us. Go to www.bbb.com and put complain against SPRINT. BBB rep will get back to you shortly by phone (they did that with me) and will solve your problem like 1 2 3 .. Big Companies afraid of Better Business Bureau, and I have a feeling that they will dispute all the charges for you.. I think it’s the best and fastest way to deal with SPRINT. I went through it already successfully. BBB disputed for me $850"

bouchard3775 said: "Thanks for the advice!! I did a dispute online with the BBB last night. I'll let you know what goes down.."

anchorbob said: "Let us know how it turns out."

bouchard3775 said: "Ok, when did i dispute with the BBB? Sunday, I believe, nobody has called me from there (at least i don't think so, I don't answer if there is no name showing). Today I update my report on TC and Sprint is no longer there...LOL THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Unfortunately many people are stupid and ignorant...but it doesn't mean its a legit case for sexual harrassment. Get over it. We all have to deal with stupidity and "this kind of BS" and many other types of BS in life. I deal with it from the minute I leave my house dealing with day-to day issues from idiot drivers, to rude salespeople, and inconsiderate teenagers, etc. There's no shortage of it. People are stupid, and to expect otherwise will just create more stress in your life. Its easier to accept it and move on."

FICOdemon said: "By the way I managed a call center for a vendor that did customer service for Sprint PCS. We recorded less than 1/2 of 1 percent of all calls, so I doubt that Sprint has a recording of the call. We lost the project in 2004 as Sprint was moving all the call centers to Jamicia and India. I do not know if they have any call centers left in the US. They will file a "feedback exchange ticket" for your complaint, and when the rep has had several complaints they will take action."

I respectfully disagree about it being easier if we accept and move on. My response comes from personal experience with that kind of crap. And I know when you make that comment that you're referring to this situation, but if we accepted things and moved on because it was easier, we wouldn't be on this forum doing what we're doing. Because it would be easier to ignore the phone calls, the letters but would it necessarily be better. I meant it's easier if we "move on" from situations like rude and ignorant people because it will avoid needless added stress in our lives to realize that there is alot of ignorance and stupidity--and you can't change that, but... you CAN change your credit score. That's the difference! One is controllable, the other unfortunately isn't. I realized something several years ago through the help of my doctor...As soon as I stopped trying to understand or battle stupid people, the sooner my blood pressure dropped. ;)"
