Employer keeps checking my credit?Employer keeps checking my credit?
TurningPoint said: "I'm getting worried because my employer has checked my credit twice since I started. That's a total of 3 times...and I've only been there 6 weeks. The first time was before I got the job, and they told me that I had to write a letter of explanation about my poor credit, and then they would decide if I got the job or not. Well, I obviously got the job, but I'm freaking out now cuz they keep looking at it and I'm not sure why. BTW, these are all soft pulls per my TU credit report.
Also, I have a recent hard pull from my bank (Flagstar) that was not authorized. I called the branch it originated from today and they didn't know what I was talking about! They told me to contact their corporate office, but I feel they should be able to find out why they pulled it considering it was pulled AT THEIR BRANCH. Ughhh....this whole credit thing is so upsetting. In addition to not getting approved for ANYTHING at all, now I have to worry about losing my job and my bank account?
Please someone, tell me I'm worrying over nothing. :("

If it did not.. I would personally send a letter to HR revokeing their right to pull your credit when they want and I would also demand an explination as to why they are pulling it so often.
As for the pull from the branch. Send a NON-PP letter to the branch. You need to make a paper trail on that. If they are claiming they dont know what you are talking about, that letter will refresh their memories quickly.
When you send the non PP letter.. put CC at the bottom for the AG, your states banking commision, FTC, congressman..
You dont have to send it to all them, but the bank doesnt know if you did or not LOL"

I will take your advice and hopefully find out why these inquiries are there."
