liverichly said: "If it a tax lien that's on title of your home then lenders will require it to be paid off, because it would supercede their lien position, but lenders still give mortgages to people who have liens, judgments, charge-offs, etc."
kevin said: "Depending on the lien, ask the creditor to reduce it. I have seen $200,000 in IRS liens get reduced by 60%. Then again, a tax attorney was involved but it was definitely worth the effort and time."
