katie said: "I have never used one of them before, but I think that you should try to avoid those places, if you can. One of my friends did it a couple of times, and had to pay 50.00 to borrow from her own check. I thought that was sort of a bad deal."
Ally said: "That is a really bad idea. The interest rates are enough to drive you to the poor house! If you have a friend or family member to borrow from (be sure to pay them back) that might be a better idea.
Good Luck"
sexione said: "Dont do it. My friend works at one and nobody is able to pay the loan because the interest rates are sky high!"
JoshJohnson said: "I'll tell you, I'm amazed this places can operate legally! In the old day they called these guys shylocks."
claramaria said: "Glad I ran across this thread. I had considered using one of these places in the past. Now I know to try and steer clear. I knew it was too nice of them. lol"
Siegemon said: "My wife works for one of these places, (I call her a legal loan shark) if you were to used them for what they are intended for like an emergency or have to get car fixed or I lose my job kind of trouble no problem.
It becomes a problem when someone goes there every 2 weeks pays off their current loan and comes back the next day and gets another loan. You spend 15 dollars per 100 dollars you take out. Example you want $500.00, ok you will pay them back after 2 weeks $575.00 now take those that use it every 2 weeks and some do they wind up spending close to $2000.00 just in loan fees.
The kicker is the states that they operate in sets the amount that they charge for their services.

Do not use them. EVER.
Find another way.
I am in a pickle with them right now and do not have the money to pay them, and they are mean, rude and outright vicious.
Can anyone post the laws / website to pay day loans?
What do you do if you do not have the money on a post dated check?
One I already called will not work with me."

Ally said: "I would avoid these places like the plague.
Once you get caught up in their system, it's hard to dig yourself back out!"

foolynu said: "Payday loans are the DEVIL!! I have been in their vicious circle for a long time. You go to one to pay off another. Then the online payday loans make it so easy. I finally bit the bullet. Probably not the smartest thing, but I let 2 of the loans "go through the bank" and be returned NSF. Of course that happened twice for each loan, and cost me some NSF fees. But, it does buy you some time. Waited until they contacted me, by phone or mail, and found they were actually willing to work with me. Cashland and CHecknGo being the two. I agreed to paying certain amount every two weeks and it was settled. It's oddly liberating too; knowing you dont have to pay off one, run down the street to get another one, etc. Please, do not misunderstand; I'm not saying to purposefully bounce checks! But anyone can make a mistake right? And as long as you make it right in the end, within a reasonable time, you;'re ok. Then never ever ever ever go back!!!"
