I took out some personal loans, even though I have the money, advice?

vemberyte said: "Ok so I wanted to gain some credit using money I already had. I took out $5,000 at 9.99 for 48 months I wanted to make payments for 6 months and then pay it off. I wasn't sure if this was the best route? Is there really any difference if I pay if off after 2 months or 6 months? Should I wait a year?"

I also took advantage of Bank Of America's (finally) 100% free checking if u apply online, and I have 1 account for each of those bills and each account sends payment to each credit card each month, and I have the accounts set so that I have 2 months worth of bills in each account and each month I will divy up my money into each account. Its like writing checks to each company but the cool thing is i automatically know how much money I now have for my savings and spending.... Anyway i got off track, so my score in this last year has gone from 552 ->676, and now I have this loan I wanted to push my credit over 700 My girlfriend had a loan for a 4 year term and she paid it off after 2 years, and it didnt increase her credit score. It could have been the credit card we had maxed out but still we figured it would have gone up a point atleast. So what I wanted to know was how long is long enough to have this loan before I pay it back. I went into this explanation because the only response I got on a different board was "just use a credit card and pay it off every month""
