I called Fair Isaacs and the said that AU trade lines ARE used for calculation. Someone shed some light. Need to know cards that, for sure, send AUs to CRAs along with whether they put full history on or only from when AU status began."

David said: "I gave my sister a bp card that I have as an AU so that she could build her credit rateing with them. They told me that after 6 months or so she should have no problems getting a card from them in her name."

JoshJohnson said: "I've always heard you inherit the credit history of the person's account. For example, if the account is 10 years old, it would appear you have 10 years of good payments. How true this, I can't say for sure."

David said: "It's true. My grandmothers CC company put me as an AU on her account when i was just a POC. My credit report reflected her entire payment history. should have seen how fast they pulled it off when I told them i was going to sue their pants off."
