mindless said: "Hello all,
I am new to this web sight and I am hopeing you can help me out. I am trying to up my credit score and trying to impove my credit report. Also my id some has been using it too. Luck me not this is the 5th time know in the last 20 years this has happend to me and my husband no joke. Our score has gone down 150 in only one week and no one can explain why which is driving me nuts since I have to be on medication because I have ocd when it comes to paying bills or money. I tend to stress so bad that I have to check every one of my bank accounts and balance my check books every day about 15-20 times a day. I have little morning afternoon and night routine that I go through to make sure I have the matching balcances in every account. So I am scary stressing about money. So any back to my question. Back in 2002 when I had a baby I had to go to the hospital for early labor. I got charged 109 for a copay. I paid it in full it gt turned over to collection agent. any ways I have been fighting with the hospital and that collection agent. since then telling them I paid it.So I have wrote both hospital and collection agent. and asked for a bill or something to show me something on this account. No one will contact about this account. How do get this account off my credit report?"
David said: "you send a DV letter to the collection company first..
Stay off the phone with these people..
Do everything in writting and CMRRR.
How did you pay this bill?? Credit card, check and OH NO CASH!"
mindless said: "Yes I paid in when I got the 1st bill from the hospital. I paid it in full the total amount due which was $ 109.00. I have been writing letter since 2002 to the hospital and the collection agent. and no one will anwser my question and no one will show me any where that I owe this money but, this item sits on my credit report. It is driving me nuts how do I get this off. I been asking trans union equifax and experian to remove and tell me it has to stay. I could just scream...."
anchorbob said: "Send a Cease-Communications letter to the CA and dispute with the CRA"
David said: "Again... im asking how you paid the bill..
Like Anchorbob said.. Send a cease com letter to the CA and dispute with the CRA.
If this doesnt make it go away. you need to send a DV letter to the CA.
This will make them prove that you actually owe them the debt.
If they are unable to prove you owe them the debt they have to remove the entry from your credit report.
That is unless you can come up with some documentation that you paid.."
mindless said: "I paid the collection with a check. But of course the bank dosn't keep check after two years and I know longer bank there. I always pay with check or with some kind of bill pay where I get some type of trasaction code number or something like that. I have to have a paper trail. My husband who tells me every things is to go after two years expect for taxes or debt we are still paying on. Not me I try to keep for 10 debt records since you never know when someone is going to pull something like this on you. They have it marked on my report know as paid in full after reported to collections know...I have sent those letter to the credit company's all ready they told it is to stay for 10 year !!!!All neg. and good debt well stay on for 10 years too. I keep get quotes from the credit reporting company's and no help. It is a pain. I am about to just give up and live with the person who has taken my husband ID and my ID and the low credit scores and learn to never ever beable to get any thing on credit nor be able to ever open my business up. I am giving up it is not worth it I have been fight for over 12 years and I getting sick of it. Every day it is something new with these company's. Put a fork in me I am done!"
David said: "they keep the electronic copy of your check for more then 2 yrs. just not the paper copy.
Also.. you can dig out an old bank statement showing the amount in question and the check number.
Your bank is suppose to work for you so.. make them work and dig up that check."
anchorbob said: "The bank definitely has a record. They may charge you for it, but they can dig it up."
TommyV said: "so you are so compulsive that you balance your check book 20 times a day but you throw away your old bank statements?"
mindless said: "Hello No I don't throw away bank statements. MY husband does I was told in a class I took back in the early 90's not to throw anything away for 7 years. So I try to keep every thing for 10 years. You never know what is going to happen. My husband on the other hand throw's everything away. The only thing he keeps is taxes and bill we owe at that time when he gets rid of bill stuff. I keep every receipts and piece of paper work."

I have wrote the credit report and the collection agent and no one will return my letters. The credit reporting company's tell me it has to stay on for 7-10 years. But I have been fighting with them to remove it because I had paid it before it went to collections. But they won't remove it. It is driving me nuts. How do I get it remove or do I just wait 7-10 years? I want to see prove of this account. But the collection agent will not answer me. That is my question"

I bet they answer when you send them a DV letter.. they are required to by LAW to respond.
If they fail to respond.. that works in your favor because that means the CA is reporting unvalidated information on your CR."
mindless said: "Hello this might sounds stupid but what is a DV letter? can you please tell me what it is."
JoshJohnson said: "Sure, it's a debt validation letter you send asking them to prove you owe the money."
mindless said: "Thank you very much for the infor. I have sent that to them already. I did get a letter from them last week but all it said was call 1-800-000-0000, but not one thing about the account and still nothing about the "paid" account. They even said it is paid, but they have not showed me proof of the account or anything like that. So I guess Iam at a stand still with this account. Thanks again for the info."
David said: "They didnt validate the account then."
mindless said: "No they did not they want me to call. I just do not want to talk to them since I would get yelled at then I would start yelling at them you know the whole bunch of stuff. I just don't know where to go from here. Lost well that is eay since I am blonde ha ha"
David said: "you want to deal with them in writting.
If you have to talk to them on the phone... record the conversation."
Deeplybrown said: "Does anyone have any espericien with a CRA called CPA- Credit Protection Associates-- HQ is Texas. They deal mainly with collections for cable companies. Anyway does anyone on here have any experience with them in the arena of PFD?
Also SOL in FL is 4 years but do I do from date opened or dated reported to CRA?
Thanks for you help,
