Difficulty in doing your own repair

DonM said: "Not sure what you want to know. There are many obstacles."

JoshJohnson said: "It's not hard. Basically you write letters and mail them in."

Omega blood said: "Not hard at all. You just have to be informed. Most if not all of what you need to know is on the net. Go to the credit repair discussion and read. Most questions you have will already have been answered there. Good luck."

TommyV said: "Blood is right. When I first started, I read Lexington's site and thought I should pay a lawfirm. Then I read a lot of the forums. I thought that 'self credit repair' was something that couldn't be done but figured it was worth a few stamps. Tried it, got deletes couldn't friggin believe it. Got hooked and went into it with my all. The result - from 510 to 789 TransUnion in 3 months."

JoshJohnson said: "The credit repair places are actually quite expensive, so doing it yourself makes a ton of sense."

htdifinancial said: "Yes, credit repair places are considerably more expensive then doing it yourself. And what is funny, is places like Lexington Law, for example, only charge $49.99 a month on average, but what they do not tell you is that they only go after one credit bureau per month and up to 5 negative accounts per bureau. So, if they are dealing with someone that has 10 negative accounts per bureau (which is less than average BTW) then it would take them 6 months to address all the accounts that you can do in the first day."
