CC over the limit!CC over the limit!
Omega blood said: "I have had a capital one card for about 6 months now with a limit of $200. I ran it up and paid it off. Recently I made another purchase that put me at about $180. On the first of this month I checked my balance on line and it said my credit limit was $300. So I made a $60 dollar purchase and was approved. I check my online balance again a few days later and it said my credit limit was $200.  I checked it again right now and it gave me my balance and a $29 over limit fee. So I called them told them the story and specifically asked them why approve a transaction that would put me over the limit? The rep. quickly told me that they would wave the fee but could do nothing about the limit. The waving of the limit was enough to satisfy me.
Just thought I'd share this story and see if any one had similar experiences"

David said: "Dont trust Capital one.. unless you have it written in blood.
they lie.. cheat...steal and report incorrectly to CRA's even when they have an agreement.
check out ripoffreports.com and search capital one.. youll seeeeeeee
I'll never use any service attached with them."

Really, a cc is your own responsibilty, not the creditors. I'm talking specifically about Capital One, it seems to be everyones choice complaint. Make your payment by your due date and guess what, your not going to get any late fees. Again!! due date, as in we need your pymt in by this date, not around this day or later. And another thing read your friggin terms and conditions, so you don't call in and make yourself look like an ass b/c YOU didn't read your contract. If you have a credit card, you're an adult. so act like one and take responsibility for your own mistakes, stop trying to put it off on the creditor, ie CAPITAL ONE!!!!! :)"
DonM said: "Who the hell are you to tell us about the situations we have been in. Do you know what any of us have been through. Do you know any of the details about our complaints?? I didnt think so. So go back to your bank or from where ever the hell you came from and leave us alone to help the people, like ourselves, know the FACTS. Capital One is Evil. Just because YOU might not have experienced a problem with them, doesnt mean everyone is like YOU. We have been F@#KED by Capital One and we will get the info to the others about our situations and dealings with them. And they can make up their own mind on what they want to do.
I want to tell the members of this board that I am sorry for posting this message but I cant stand when people degrade our intentions. I will probably be banned for this but hopefully I get my message acrossed.
By the way, If I do get banned, I want to say that I enjoyed learning from all of you. I appreciate all of the help I have received and I hope I have helped others at the same time. THANK YOU"

Glad to see your rooting for the CC companies... the people who are in business to take as much money from people as they can. CC companies are so wonderful that they are now charging people that pay their balances of in full each month.
In my situation.. i contacted capital one before my due date.. tried to make some sort of arrangements with them.. they didnt want to even talk to me about it.. didnt want to work with me on it.. they just sent it right to their collections department.. I didnt have to call them to make sure things were right with them.. after all I had been a good customer with them for 5 yrs... and the thanks I got was , when I got screwed by an employer who held up my money, screw you very much.
What credit card company or bank or collection agency do you work with by the way.. we all know thoes guys lurk on here and the other boards."

You missed the part of the story where my credit limit conspicuously went up and came right back down. After I had made a purchase. Looks to me like the CC company is smelling a little fishy.
And by the way it is A LIMIT that's why they shouldn't authorize you for more than the limmit.
I also wrote down the name, time and date of the person I talked to. Not only that, I paid 150 already and the next payment isn't due till the 1st of Dec.
If they give me anymore trouble I will cancel my one card and the 2 that my wife has."

Anyway, he probably got so mad because they were talking about the same dept where he works and deals with calls of this nature day in/out, only he can't say anything bc they would ask him "what's in your wallet" and fire him.
So I guess that they use their own employees in those commercials..."
