I hear you but im getting desperate.. I dont need the credit card to boost my credit.. Hell Im not even looking for a high limit. $100.00 credit limit is sufficient for my cell bills.. No one is giving me a fricking chance.. first MBNA denied, then capone.. Im trying orchard bank next then giving up.."

dammit.. this system is setup to fail us... First can't get a card, and cant build credit and each time I apply my score reduces.. that sux. If orchard denies me for a secured card with $200.00 I'll jump off a bridge"
Omega blood said: "No one will deny you for a secured card. Just make sure that the money you give them for the security deposit goes into a savings account so it can earn interest. For a secured card you can go into just about any bank and get one. I would just go down to Wells or BofA and get one there or from your own bank if you have one."

If you have a charge-off, no matter what you tell them, they (any company) WILL deny you credit.
Have you tried First Premier Bank? By the way, I don't work for them, it's just that it was the only bank who helped me.

I have a crap one card that I pay in full every month and have had for 2 and a half years with perfect payments. I also have my parents citi bank card reporting on my credit reports with a $15,000 limit and $69 balance and perfect payments for 11 years.
I have 2 6 year old paid charge offs. My lowest score is 646 and highest is 656.
Would I still be denied because the old co's are on there, even though I have had perfect history since?
I dont want to make unnessary inquiries because right now no inquiries is listed as the #1 reason for my score being higher.
Do secured cards report to the CRA as secured or just like regular cards?"
TommyV said: "I would wait until the chargeoff comes off becasue nobody except maybe Orchard will give you a card with a ChargeOff.
I was able to get Orchard with a defaulted student loan and a chageoff from Cap1. It was unsecured with a $300.00 limit and a $60.00 fee but it got me to establish a good account.
One thing to note. If you get a low limit card, be carefull. If you go above the 38% - 50% mark your score will sink ,ike a rock. It's very easy to do this with a low limit card. A $75.00 balance is fine on a card with a $1000.00 limit, but it's 75% of a $100.00 limit card. That will kill your score.
I made the mistake of applying for a lot of cards now I have a ton of inquiries on EQ and EX. For some odd reason, nodody pulled TU so I only have 2 inquiries on there.
I am trying to get some inquiries removed, but I'm not sure how it will go.
Good Luck!"

Visa Prepaid Debit Cards and love them.
It costs $2.00 to load the amount you want on the card.
I have used them everywhere offline and online. It is a one time use card.
But, you do not have to worry about someone stealing your identity, bank account money, etc.

I also found a Visa at Walgreen Drug Store that was $9.95 and supposedly
reloadable. But, I have not used that yet.
I really love the disposable ones for my use.
It also keeps you out of the Credit Card Traps (high interest, spending too much of what you don't have. . . etc).
Hope this helps a few."

My wife and I both got unsecured 300.00 limits less than a year after filing Ch13.
Scores were around 550 at the time"
radcojoe said: "Carefull of first premier guys, they are easy to get but fees are a bitch with them and any and i do mean ANY late pays are reported right away with them. both my wife and i lost our jobs same month 4 yrs ago and we had that as our only card. you would think with it being a secured card it would be ok, but they kepy piling fees and piling fees etc on it. then i fould out the insurance i was paying on the account that was supposed to cover it if i was laid off didnt count because i was self employed sortof ( i was paid 1099 as a sub contractor) so i was never really employeed according to them. so just be carefull who you choose as your Secured cards.
I started a post on here to list CA's that youve gotten to do a PFD at less than 100% of wha tyou owed so maybe we should start a post for good secured cards to get."
