Eric said: "I have recently paid off all of my bad debt and started to rebuild my credit. I went from a 548 mid score to a 601 since Feb. 05. I know have a mortgage, auto loan, student loan, Orchard Bank CC. and just got a Target RedCard. Everyone is saying that they are getting all of this old bad debt off of their credit. How??? I know that I was late on all of my old cards. They are paid off and closed now. Why is that still hurting my credit and how can I get them off?? Can I get them off or do I have to wait the 7 years?"
