My brother in law works for GM so we get the family/employee discount. I can tell you from having bought a 2005 Pontiac G6, fully loaded that the discount is well worth it. The price of the vehicle without the discount, tax (8.75%), title, license, extended warranty, and GAP insurance was just over 28.5K, I financed (at 1% :D ) 27K with all the above added and no trade-in. I love my car and it's the first brand new car I've ever had, so if you're thinking about getting a new car, now is the time.

I checked out trading in my Bonneville for a new GXP and the pricing wasn't that hot! Still almost $36,000 when all is said and done.

I went and priced some out, too.
Decided that the payment was still too high. I don't need a new car that bad.
It had more to do with reverse equity more than anything else. It might have been okay otherwise..

They're probably doing the same thing the grocery stores do when they have a sale. Raise the price above normal price offer discount, then end up selling the car for the amount they want from the consumer.

Their offer to me was way too high. There was no BIG DISCOUNT! LOL. They ended this too, I think.
