I have three. Capital One "No Hassle Rewards" and one Visa and MC each from Providian / WaMu. Then I have my debit card from my bank and my PayPal debit card.

My Visa debit card
1 Continental ONEPass Visa
1 Juniper mastercard
1 paypal plus mastercard
1 clothing store card
1 walmart card
1 orchard bank mastercard

its a big chunk but except for one, they all have a zero balance, so they sit in a locked box... i dont take them with me in my wallet, THAT would be a no-no!

I carry a couple of debit cards and pretty much leave the credit cards at home. If I can't pay cash, I don't buy.

2 actual credit cards. One that I use and one that is empty for that just in case and to keep the score balanced.

It doesn't really help when not using it, but it is good to have credit that has beena long term relationship. Both I have had for years. I have opened department store cards occassionally to get discounts, always pay within the grace period and then close after awhile, but the big two I keep open.
