Default collection student loan

I have a simple question.

I have a student loan and collection company is working for original creditor(account is not sold to collection company).
original creditor won't talk to me and only they say is to talk to collection company.

As they a still original creditor and account is not sold, don't they need to talk to me if I have any questions?

I am not sure how to approuch to this situation but is there any rules for it? or my only choice is to talk to collection company?

Sometimes that happens, the original creditor won't talk to consumers some of them automatically forward you to the collection agency.
