Default Judgement ?

1st this is great site glad I found it!!
I have 1 judgement on my CRA's it from Capt. 1 of course filed in 2003 to too drop according to TU in 2010 for $1000 and change for a Debt from around 2000, what I dont understand is Capt1 has it on all 3 CRA's for $1500 and change and list it as acct opened in 1998 and write off as loss Acct.closed 2008 and that due too drop from record in 7-2008.
Heres my Question for some time Ive been "judgement prove" you could say thats may chance soon, the judgements for $1000 Capt 1 as ran it vto $1500 somehow, I know the judgement stays under puplic record till 2010 even tho the report for capt 1 drops in 7-2008 , but sense till wrote it off as loss can they still come after me if I return too work and if so for what amount? Any suggestion on best course of action here? Thanks

The difference in amount could be updated collection fees.

What state are you from? Need to find out the statute of limitations on the judgement for your state.

Just because they charged off does not mean that you still don't legally owe the debt. It is just a term meaning they got a tax break. Should you pay, they would then have to pay taxes on that income.

Thanks again for reply the reply the time you put in on these post is both invaluable and remarkable:respect:

I’m in AR SOL Judgments is 10 yrs, 5 on Written Contracts and 2 on Medical I believe.
Best I can make of from my CRA I have 6 Neg. CA's that according too TU are estimated to be removed between now and Sept. 2008, also 2 other smalls CA's 1 out of SOL and 1 not and 2 small medical that have went to CA and out of SOL and this Jugdement.
My thinking now is maybe let the 6 drop by Sept. and try to negotiate a pay for remove deal on the the remaining 5. (Or would it be better to send DV on them first?) and have a clear CRA by years end.
Question is would trying to make deals or sending a DV affect the out of SOL or reporting dates on the remaining CA's or Judgment? Thanks again for your input.

Keep a copy of that credit report for your records that show when everything is due to expire.

On the ones that have not expired yet, you can send debt validation to the collection agencies. If the sol has expired already, they should not do anything to mess with the correct reporting date, but if they do you have the back up credit report to show the truth.

If you can pay for deletion that would be great, it they agree. Best of wishes with this matter.

Usually it would say closed by credit grantor so I am thinking it means the same thing. That they closed the account and not the consumer.
